Nelly's new video. Where do I begin?

There are just so many things wrong with Nelly's new video "Move That Body" that I feel only a list form can keep things in check here.

  • So, the concept is a bunch of men watching an underground, all-female, dance version of "Fight Club"? Am I the only one who finds this completely misogynistic? And why am I surprised by that?
  • How in the world did the kings of Auto-Tune, T-Pain and Akon, collaborate on the same track and the world is somehow still intact. Oh, maybe this explains all the dead birds falling from the skies recently...
  • The dirty toilets. What the fuck is with the dirty toilets in music videos? Are they what's in now? I blame Ke$ha.
  • The song completely sucks. But it's likely going to be playing everywhere I go.

The Lonley Island have an announcment

They just had sex!

The funny boys who became famous for their SNL music videos "Dick In A Box", "Jizz In My Pants", and "I'm On A Boat" have a new album coming out and the lead single has been dropped.

"I Just Had Sex" is a bouncing hip-hop track with hilarious lyrics about The Lonley Island boys, well, just having very horrible sounding sex, but they're thrilled about it.

The cameos from Akon, Blake Lively and Jessica Alba are hilarious. I like when celebs have a sense of humour, especially Akon, who's probably had so much sex he probably doesn't even realize why it would be such a big deal anymore!

Dr. Dre returns with all the old tricks up his sleeve

Um, I didn't realize it will be 12 years since Dr. Dre's last album!

Anyway, he's back and his new album Detox is about to drop early next year. And the first single "Kush" is out.

It's kinda weird that the album is called Detox, but the first single is an ode to weed.

Also, apparently Dr. Dre has stuck to the same hip hop formula that works for everyone else. Sluts, cash, cars, drinks, wet bodies...it's all there. Even Snoop and Akon are just hanging out.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying, you'd think after waiting 12 years between albums, you'd wanna come back with something not so generic.

Michael Jackson lives on

The video for Michael Jackson's first posthumous single "Hold My Hand", which features Akon, is pretty cute.

I mean, there's not much more I can say about it. We've got well-used footage of MJ, cut with lots of scenes of people holding hands. I like his shadow dancing on the wall. It's all just very sweet and a nice reminder for everything Michael stood for.

The song is still not good, but the video is nice. Watch!

Michael Jackson's first official posthumous single

The first official single from Michael Jackson's first posthumous album, Michael, was recently released.

"Hold My Hand" features the late King of Pop sounded just as good as I remember... well, vocally anyway.

Production-wise, the song doesn't sound like an MJ song. In fact, it sounds like Akon, who guests on the track, just wrote the song and had Michael sing vocals for it. It's definitely not going to go down as anything notable in Michael's pop legacy.

Recently, will.i.am publicly blasted the new MJ album as nothing more than a disrespectful cash grab, saying:

“Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are to say that what [Michael] contributed during his life wasn’t enough. He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring... Michael Jackson songs are finished when Michael says they’re finished.”

I never thought I would agree with will.i.am, but, well, here we are.

On the plus side, I think the single artwork (in the video below), where the silhouettes holding hands make an "M", is pretty cute.
