Bruno Mars is lazy...and scary

I still haven't gotten into Bruno Mars. I don't know why. His music is perfectly fine, but I guess it's just not my taste.

Anyway, here is his latest video for "The Lazy Song". It's a simple one-take video that shows Bruno dancing in his room...with men wearing monkey masks.

I will admit that when I'm having a lazy day, I dance by myself all the time. I just don't do it with men in masks. That's just scary and weird.

Bruno Mars likes to get high... I mean, drunk

I think I'm one of the few people who have not jumped on to the Bruno Mars bandwagon. I mean, sure he's got a good voice, and he writes cute pop songs. But, other than his coke possession charge, his brand of music is so generic that I'm not a fan.

Anyway, he's got a new video out for "Liquor Store Blues" featuring Damian Marley, where he sings about drowning his sorrows in booze. Sounds depressing, but the funky reggae jam keeps it bouncing.

The strange thing is, there's no booze in the video. But there is a lot of green smoke.

Perhaps booze isn't his only escape?

Hey, whatever works to get you out of your funk. But, considering said drug allegations, I wonder if this is best visual you want people to see?

The year in pop music

It seems that DJ Earworm is making a bit of a New Year's tradition by releasing amazing mega mash-ups of the year's biggest pop hits. And this year, he doesn't disappoint.

Relive some of the biggest chart movers in one fun and easily-digestible track, including hits from Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Rihanna, Taio Cruz, Enrique, Eminem, Gaga and many many more. So well done!

Bruno Mars kinda gets it all wrong

So, I just watched the video for popstar of the moment Bruno Mars' "Grenade" and before I give my thoughts, let's watch it together!

Whoa. Okay, so here's what went through my mind:

00:22 - Oh, this song's got some spunk to it...okay.

00:41 -  Um, is he recreating Jesus carrying the cross using a piano?

02:21 - Oh snap, this is why you call before you arrive at someone's house.

03:40 - Wait, did he get hit by a train??? That seems very inappropriate to use that as a plot point given the fact that suicide is such a sore spot these days. I don't like it.
