Far East Movement wish they were you

In my humble opinion, I think Far East Movement took a huge misstep by releasing "Rocketeer" as their second single. Hence the nearly simultaneious release of "2 Is Better", a dance track featuring Natalia Kills and Ya Boy, and now "If I Was You (OMG)" featuring Snoop Dogg.

First of all, didn't Gossip Girl and Perez Hilton popularize the acronym "OMG" like 5 years ago? I say it to be funny, but I don't think that's what Far East Movement and Usher are doing. It's like they've just caught on to the tail end of a trend. So, can we just stop with the OMG? It should only be allowed if you're being facetious.

Now, back to the track, it's another dance track that addresses a girl so hot, they can't help but wonder about all the freaky things they'd do to themselves if they were her. Yeah, kinda weird. I mean, if some guy came up to me and said "If I was you, I'd make out with myself in the mirror every morning", first I'd correct his grammar, second I think I'd puke in my mouth.

But, I guess they're just having fun. Which I guess gives them the right to say "OMG". But I still won't have it.

Snoop goes Boom

I love Snoop Dogg just because he's the chillest guy ever. It doesn't matter if he's writing songs for Sookie from True Blood or rapping with a Nickelodeon band, somehow he keeps his credibility and seems so cool.

Here's his latest video for "Boom" from his upcoming album Doggumentary, featuring T-Pain. The video starts off in an epic, yet cheesy way, envisioning a future where the American Empire has fallen and going to clubs has moved underground. How the two are connected, I have no idea. But, with Snoop, you just gotta go with it.

The track is pretty good and I'm surprised that T-Pain's voice isn't annoying me. His hook actually make me want to sing along!

Snoop should write every wedding song

So, Snoop Dogg decided to write a song in honour of Prince Williams upcoming marriage to Kate Middleton. And it's called "Wet".

And the video has Snoop inviting William and Harry stand-ins for a weekend in Vegas filled with sluts sluts and more sluts!

Yet, even though this video should offend every bit of my being, I can't! I mean, Snoop is so over-the-top, how can you not just laugh at the whole thing. And you know that he's laughing with you, too.

Dr. Dre returns with all the old tricks up his sleeve

Um, I didn't realize it will be 12 years since Dr. Dre's last album!

Anyway, he's back and his new album Detox is about to drop early next year. And the first single "Kush" is out.

It's kinda weird that the album is called Detox, but the first single is an ode to weed.

Also, apparently Dr. Dre has stuck to the same hip hop formula that works for everyone else. Sluts, cash, cars, drinks, wet bodies...it's all there. Even Snoop and Akon are just hanging out.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just saying, you'd think after waiting 12 years between albums, you'd wanna come back with something not so generic.

Even Snoop Dogg doesn't know what he's doing anymore

Okay, the video for "Welcome To The World of the Plastic Beach"  by Gorillaz featuring Snoop Dogg just proves that even Snoop is getting confused with all his random guest appearances.

Seriously, at the beginning of the video, Snoop's looking around the low-budget set with his telescope and then finally clues in that maybe he should dance or something. It's kinda funny.

And, yeah, did Gorillaz spend all their money? They went from minimizing the CGI in their last video to none at all in this one. And that set that looks like it came from a high school production. Or maybe that's a room in Snoop's mansion? Who knows what he does with all the money he makes from all his guest appearances?

Anyway, the song is actually pretty good. The video just looks so awkward that it makes me laugh.
